Nabeyaki Udon / Udon noodles, shrimp tempura, green onion, fish cake, egg, onion, tofu - 5! Vegetable Tempura - 5! Yen Sushi & Sake Bar in Los Feliz is one of my local sushi/Japanese spots. They are right next to a grocery store with lots of parking, although the parking does get full at peak shopping times. I normally walk over. Today, it was rainy, and that inspires me to get a bowl of udon. While they specialize in sushi, there are some other classic Japanese foods, and udon is one of them. The broth was warm, tasty, and full of comfort. The egg and shrimp were delicious. I loved the bits of tofu and the fish cake . There was a filling amount of well made udon. Overall an excellent bowl of noodles. The vegetable tempura was crispy and soft, featuring multiple pieces of squash, the staple fall/winter staple tempura and also my favorite. I'm not a sake (or booze in general) drinker but they certainly have a robust sake menu. They have a cozy wood panel decor and a small dining room. The servers are friendly and fast. It was a really nice place to enjoy lunch.
Fresh, delicious and fast service. Usually do take out orders. I have eaten at the restaurant but I prefer to take out and eat at home.
Nice sushi spot tucked away in Los Feliz. Easy parking since it's in an Albertsons lot. Not too many seats but the service is great. Food is high quality and fish is fresh. Definitely would come back, especially for their lunch deals.
If you're looking for quality sushi, and some Korean food. Come to this place! This place is located in the heart of Loz Feliz. My friend and I would often go to the coffee bean next door after a hike. We have always seen this place but never thought about eating there. We went here on a Friday afternoon. When we walked in, the place was small, but the ambiance was good. The menu was cheap for the area compared to the Koreatown prices. I got the Shrimp Tempura roll, miso soup, and the spicy tuna roll; everything was delicious. The waiters and staff were friendly and welcoming. I would come back here if I'm craving sushi.
Came here with my son on a whim after his doctor visit to KP. We both ordered the lunch combo specials- miso soup, chefs sushi choice and our choice of roll. We also ordered tempura shrimp and vegetables. The place is "cozy" and I like that. They had just opened for lunch so I can't say what it is like during the rush hours. The host/waitress was friendly and courteous. Everything was great. The sushi was excellent - very tender. I ordered the soft shell crab roll and it was very delicious. My son ordered the spicy salmon roll and, likewise, said it was very good. The tempura was cooked perfectly- crispy and not oily. If we are ever in the area again, this is one place we will definitely visit again. A+
